Overweight and obesity are increasingly recognized as important health concerns among college students because of their potential long-term effects on metabolic and cardiovascular health. This study examines the prevalence of overweight and obesity and explores selected lifestyle factors associated with excess body weight among college students. Body mass index is used to classify participants into underweight, normal weight, overweight, and obese categories. Additional factors considered include dietary habits, physical activity, screen time, sleep duration, stress, and sedentary behavior. The findings suggest that overweight and obesity are present among a considerable proportion of students and are more frequently associated with unhealthy eating patterns, low physical activity, prolonged sitting, inadequate sleep, and excessive screen exposure. The study emphasizes the importance of early identification of weight-related problems and the promotion of balanced nutrition, regular exercise, adequate sleep, and healthier daily routines to support better long-term health among college students.
