Abstract

SAP-based software supports the management of medical supply chains during emergencies and pandemic conditions through real-time planning and coordinated resource control. The system monitors medicines, personal protective equipment, oxygen supplies, vaccines, diagnostic materials, and critical medical devices across hospitals and warehouses. Demand forecasting helps estimate urgent requirements based on infection rates, patient admissions, consumption trends, and supplier lead times. Automated alerts identify shortages, delayed deliveries, low stock, and uneven resource distribution. Integration with procurement, finance, inventory, transportation, and healthcare departments improves data accuracy and emergency response coordination. Dashboards allow administrators to prioritize critical supplies, track supplier performance, and support rapid stock transfers between facilities. Overall, SAP software can improve preparedness, reduce supply disruptions, control emergency procurement costs, and strengthen healthcare resilience during large-scale crises.
